NightTime Pleasures..

As sexual as this post may sound due to the title, it is nothing of the sort. This is a blog about skateboarding – c’mon dude. This will be about a different type of nighttime adventure – nighttime skateboarding. Skating at night is much different than in the daytime, albeit the act is still the same. There are several things that make it different, there is: less people, less traffic, less mania, meaning that there will overall be less commotion going on that is so hard to avoid during the day. Less commotion not only means a happy skateboarder, but also a happy person (Not to mention that there is no sun, making the point at which you tire to be pushed further back than it’s usual, meaning, you guessed it, more skating).

Aside from the skateboarding, you may witness a lot of nightly antics, nighttime insanity (an alternative to the daytime insanity?) being out at these times of the day, it is true that “the freaks come out at night.” There are drug dealers, drug addicts, gangs, thieves, (bad thing), (bad thing), et cetera. With that being said, it should be noted that you should not skate solo when you are skating at night, it can be dangerous. You don’t want to end up in a situation that you could have easily avoided had you ran with a posse.

Posed with the question of whether I prefer to skate during the day, or at night, I would respond, “Either one is fine, let’s go skate.”

Want to feel the nighttime vibes? Check out this video of Taylor Nawrocki and Bill Mcfeely cruising the streets of Manhattan in the wee hours of the night:

  1. Fantastic…sound advice, awesome skateboarding….and, I saw a sign that said “Flash Dancers”–“Flash Dance” was one of my fav movies back in the day πŸ™‚ Also, as much as I love living in the country, watching this video made me appreciate the beauty of the city….and, I love the night…although I’m not a freak (well, not in “the freaks come out at night way πŸ™‚ ) Thanks for sharing…oh, and have I told you lately how amazing you are? πŸ™‚

    1. Hmm, I’ve never heard of that movie, I’ll make sure to check it out. Must be a good one. The city can be beautiful, especially at night. I love it. Not all night lovers are freaks. 1. You wouldn’t have…it was before your time…an early 80’s hit… πŸ™‚ And, I know the value of positive regard…I am grateful to be able to just say what I feel without worrying about my
kindness being taken for weakness…you are so genuine and I want to be sure to remind you of your awesomeness…just so you don’t ever forget πŸ™‚

      2. I’m not totally ignorant of things before me, I know a little something πŸ˜‰
Trust that I appreciate it, sometimes self-doubt can take hold and we may need a little encouragement, often times your comments help more than you may know.
Hopefully you don’t forget how creative and talented you are!

      3. Oh, I have no doubt you know some old school things–you strike me as something of a fun-loving old soul…such a fantastic combo….it’s just that Flashdance wasn’t in the league of movies like Star Wars etc….and, thank you for your generous comments…they really brighten my day…in fact, for the first time ever, I posted a comment (yours–in regard to “Stupor-sti-shun Ain’t The Way”) on my Facebook page and provided a link to your blog πŸ™‚

And Whoa! That’s extremely nice of you, I don’t have Facebook, but geez, I seriously couldn’t thank you enough. I’m excited now, nothing could ruin my day! Now I need to repay you – in a way that equates to that πŸ™‚

      5. You don’t need to repay me, your comment meant so much (I posted it a few days ago)…I wanted to do something to shine a light on you even as I dared to step out of the shadows myself…I simply shared that with you to let you know that you make more of a difference than you know πŸ™‚ I’m actually not that into FB…however, I’ve taken to blogging like a duck to water….I feel in my element here…so glad you are here, too….have a fantastic weekend… πŸ™‚
